Rolling up themes from several days this week, Seth Godin follows write-ups on Grace and Generosity, and the diagrams from Austin Kleon are a good way to determine what you like to read. Add the pieces together for a simple one-page cheat sheet on personal resilience.

Another Matrix
Yesterday, I wrote about reading, and it came with a nifty diagram created by the author and artist Austin Kleon. Today, another diagram, this time from Seth Godin, can help you determine what is useful (to you).
As Godin describes it, we tell ourselves many (internal) stories; this simple 4 quadrant matrix is a quick way to plot your stories. Finding your own truth is important; finding out that something is true but not useful is also important, and like most productivity tools and frameworks, a new view is powerful.
Resilient
Focus on the corner of the matrix with the highest points of both True and Useful; it's in this corner where all your typical focus and passions can align; when you find the thing in your life that sits in this corner, you can begin to build your work around them. Filling out the Cynical side of the matrix is also helpful - you identify ideas you want to avoid or find creative ways to move those problems over to the Useful side with new solutions you come up with.
Seth Godin’s Resilient Matrix is a good way to work on Grace and Generosity, themes I wrote about on Sunday.
