A simple thought today about the [Un]Known Universe and all the new discoveries I have read about daily. What we don’t know is what makes life so fantastic.

Big Story
All Unknown
Over the last 24 hours, I've listened to, read, or watched stories of how science and research have blown through many of the things we thought we knew. One story described a link between the DNA of a human species known as Homo Denisovan. This group pre-dates 'US' (Homo Sapiens) but may have bread with Homo Sapiens and, if true, would push the beginning of human beings on planet Earth from 300,000 years ago to 400,000 years or more.
A Body Knows
Next, a TEDTalk described how your body might influence your mood when you are sick in order to get you to expend less energy and burn fewer calories, all in an effort to conserve both to help you heal. Most of us feel less motivated to go out or hit the gym if we are sick, but could our bodies fight an infection by affecting our mood? Science already tells us how the body will shut down less critical systems to help the body attack infection and that a fever may result from what the body needs to do to fight the infection. It's possible the same internal systems could turn you into an a**hole and make you go home and get back in bed.
Perception Biased
Finally, a writeup from a prominent neuroscientist suggests our perception of the world is a construct of our mind and is a combination of a subconscious process and conscious perceptions. Welcome to The Matrix…
Meaning
What a wonderful world, with surprises and discoveries around every corner. The origin of human beings will change in the next decade based on new discoveries we don't know about today. The size of the galaxy expanded and turned into what scientists now estimate could be 2 trillion galaxies in the observable universe. We could be a multi-planetary species within this century.
If science and discovery provide us with new evidence and information about the origins of life and the future of new worlds, we could show a smidge more humility when we talk to one another. In the end, it's all unknown.

A Great Follow
Eric Alper describes himself in his Twitter Bio as a "Lifelong Musicaholic," and I consider that the best profile description in the business. He's one of the few people I love to read on Twitter, and if you love music, he's worth the follow.
